We are a Seattle based midwifery practice located in the heart of Capitol Hill, specializing in home and birth center deliveries. Waterbirth is also offered. Our main clinic is in Capitol Hill, in addition to a satellite location on Vashon Island.

Highlights of our services are:
• FREE preconception care visit
• FREE consultation
• Personalized prenatal care: 1 hour appointments and lab work done at the clinic.
• Birth at home or at a local birth center: Our midwives are privileged at both the Puget Sound Birth Center and Community Birth and Family Center.
• Water birth
• Postpartum home visits after the birth of your baby.
• Breastfeeding education and support.
• In-house acupuncturist available for treatment of morning sickness, breech presentation, and labor induction.

We accept most insurance plans and Medicaid.


Community Birth and Family Center is to undergo renovations beginning in June 2007 to become a state of the art birthing and medical professional facility. Rainy City Midwifery is privileged at both alternate birth centers: Puget Sound Birth Center in Kirkland and Seattle Home Maternity Service in Seattle.

You  can order an Heirloom birth certificate with the governor's signature on it. This is more expensive but the proceeds go to the Children's Trust Fund helping abused and neglected children.

Beth Coyote, LM and Geraldine Lee, LM are both graduates of Seattle Midwifery School, a leading institution in training midwives for out of hospital birth. As Licensed Midwives in the State of Washington, we actively participate in Peer Review and Quality Management through the Midwives Association of Washington State (MAWS). Beth and Geraldine are both preceptors for student midwives of Seattle Midwifery School and Bastyr University.

Capitol Hill Clinic (Main Clinic): Our urban cottage centrally located in Seattle, just off of Broadway. Minutes away from downtown, First Hill, Central District, and Montlake. Our clinic shares space with the following complementary providers:
